Northampton’s Christmas lights switch-on

Following on from the fantastic fireworks display at the Racecourse in Northampton it was a pleasure to support another popular Northampton Town Council event. This time it was for the Christmas Light Switch-on ceremony at Beckets Park.
We installed 250metres of festoon lighting on temporary poles. It certainly added some festive sparkle along the public walkways and at the ice rink.

There was plenty to do on the day, with live stage entertainment hosted by BBC Radio Northampton's Bernie Keith. The breakdancing and acrobatic elves in the Christmas Variety Show which included Christmas Karaoke were sights well worth seeing.
Along with workshops and activities the ice rink was bright and cheerful. The horse and carriage rides were a family treat alongside the launch of the '12 Days of Christmas’ festive trail.
Stars of the Royal & Derngate's 'Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs' panto, The Deco’s 'Cinderella', and Saints’ Alex Waller all joined the Mayor to switch on the lights.
Then, of course, it was time to take everything down again.
